With the world evolving into a new era, more and more companies now start to focus their attention on the development and utilization of new energy resources, among which auto companies take the lead. Car companies, especially foreign ones, successively published books concerning concepts, current development and utilization of new energy in car manufacturing field. Thus translation of such applied texts is not only helpful for the communication between the Chinese and our foreign peers in the auto industry and in the academic field, but it also is of great value for common people to know about the latest development of new energy resources. Thus while translating such texts, translators have to take into consideration both the acceptability of common people and the expression of the real features of the original text so as to accurately convey the author’s meaning, as well as to bring about convenience for researchers in field to exchange ideas and to do researches on.Based on the text features and target groups of this translation project and theoretic features of Stylistics, Stylistics was chosen the guiding theory for this project, and it was mainly composed by Boase-Beier’s Cognitive Stylistics and Halliday’s Functional Stylistics. During the translation process under the guidance of Stylistics, the choice of words, sentence structures and styles influenced obviously the effect of translation, and the involved translation techniques under the guidance of Stylistics such as addition, omission, adjustment of word order, adjustment of voice, reversion and so on altogether verified furthermore that Stylistics was of great importance in guiding translation of applied texts. The aim of this translation practice was to improve the translator’s ability and enlarge the scale of Stylistics for guiding more types of texts.
