With the rapid development of information age and mass media, the traditional communication pattern is replaced by the modes of radio, television and internet. The merge of multiple medium makes the information spread fast and reaches more audience. The ideology of popular culture gradually has become a significant role in people?s cultural choice with the development of mass media. The recognition and compliment of the audience have become a standard of success for the drama. This standard in a degree exerts influence on the emergence and development of the remaking of drama. As youth, love, growth and fun are four main elements of the popular culture, the remake of youth idol drama is an important aspect of the remake of drama.Foreign film and television works, animation works, popular movies are the main source of remaking of youth idol drama. Such kind of remaking follows the ideas of making an all-round publicity strategy, integrating and using existing resources, building stronger visual and sound effects to pursue more freshness and changes. Under the background of consumerism culture, the remake of youth idol drama presents four unique characteristics of consumption, which are symbol consumption, visual consumption, desire consumption and fashion consumption. And its market performance derives from the feedback of its economic benefits and audience evaluation.Through the discussion of three representative examples, this thesis summarizes that the main problems of our youth idol drama remakes are: too much attention on entertainment; lack of cultural connotation; excessive dependence on visual effects; lack of innovative capacity. In order to promote the quality of remaking of youth idol drama, we should take the innovation of film and television drama remake content as the foothold, regard creating good development environment for the domestic remake as guarantee and meet the visual demand of the audience as the driving force of the development.
