Under the modernization process of the worldwide, and Chinese and western modern philosophy background, the study on the art of Dai’s poetry, taking its modernity as the research horizon discusses and interprets Dai’s poetry’s art, viewing the rule and development features of modern Chinese literature by taking modernity as the pointcut, and through the modernistic characteristics of "words", "symbols", "meaning" in his poetry art and the poetry text’s function on inheriting and creating. At the same time it also presents a more vast space of art besides that of literature.Modernistic Study of Dai Wangshu’s Poetry’s Art does not only jump out of traditional angle to reinterpret Dai’s poetry’s art to discover the difference compared with traditional interpretation, but also finds out the confluent factors of Chinese and western in his text among the modern aesthetic category. This research is not isolated, for it can also be extended to the artistic modernistic study of other associated poets’ texts, therefore scholars can study the modernity of Chinese poetry from a more macro perspective, eventually making the theoretical and practical exploration for the deeper and broader interpretation of Dai’s poetry text and its literary thought, as well as for the "unfinished scheme" pursued by modern Chinese literature modernity. The modernistic study of Dai’s poetry’s art contains nine characteristics of modernity from three aspects of "words", "symbols", and "meanings".First of all, the language in Dai’s poetry is provided with the exploration of modernity. 1.Dai reveals his neo-exploration for music modernity by means of seeking the external musicality, internal musicality, as well as the mixed external and internal musicality in his poetry. 2.The discontinuity of Dai’s works is mainly characterized by the non-linearity intermittence of the language in his poems, the fracture of psychological language, the application of film and painting techniques as well. 3.Dai achieves the modernistic transition for poetry language through the intertexuality with the translated versions of his poems, and with the traditional culture.Secondly, the images in Dai’s poetry embody the feature of modernity. 1.The complication of imagery in Dai’s poetry. This mainly refers to the visual presentation ofthe distinct color of the image to people, and various combinations of imagery network and polysemy of daily images. 2.The fragmentation of imagery in Dai’s poetry. The fragmentary figure- "rogue", along with the new rendering of mosaic images and holistic significance in fragments forms the features of fragmentation. 3.The transitoriness of imagery in Dai’s poetry. In spite of its transient existing state in space and time, the momentary emergence of images turns out to be the eternal pursuit of beauty. Finally, Dai’s poetry implicates the expression of modernity. 1.Dai’s poetry contains the emotion of the end of the century, which reflects on the loneliness, frustration and drift in his lifetime, thus creating a feeling of anxiety of time falling. 2. Dai’s poetry also shows the decadence of the spirit. Mirrored by the excessive description, detail obsession and maiden complex, the decadent progress, however, demonstrates the structure of binary opposition. And its philosophical foundation has close relation to the influence of ZhuangChan. 3. Dai’s poetry presents the modernity of rethink, which turns to be the power source of the late "May 4th" era. In response to the appearance of enlightenment modernity of anti-the "May 4th" in the 30 s and 40 s, Dai advocates "pure poetry" writing from the perspective of art to fight against the enlightenment that destructs the meaning of poetry. His reflective confusion and modernistic crisis of identity drive him to look for the beauty disappearing in the poetry art.In a word, modernity is an "unfinished scheme". The modernity of Dai’s poetry’s art points to the ultimate value and thinking in the future.
