The twenty-first century is the Information Age with the development in science and technology, having a great impact on people’s lifestyle. Educational modes have been experiencing a big revolution as well, where the Flipped Classroom Model, an innovative concept, has been introduced. Meanwhile, this new model has caught many educationalists’ eyes since its birth. The study is attempting to interpret how to adopt the Flipped Classroom Model in TCSOL and boost its popularity worldwide.The study in application of flipped classroom model to teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages was based on an enormous amount of domestic and foreign research, summed up the concepts of TCSOL model and flipped classroom model. This study suggested that the basic concept of flipped classroom model is flipping the order of traditional teaching method. The major aim of lessons is to solve the questions from leaners, teachers passed on the basic knowledge which doesn’t need to be discussed or easy to understand before class, and checked, fed back and summarized the level of leaners’ basic knowledge mastering. During the class time, according to the mastering level, teachers helped students with applying and understanding of the knowledge and concepts by peer learning and various activities. This teaching model move the activities which launched in the classroom before the class time, and change the extended usually study after class to the classroom, for this reason, it has been called flipped classroom model.This study adopted questionnaire survey method shows the application of flipped classroom model to teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages is still in an embryonic stage by detailed data, the biggest problem of the spreading is most of the teachers who want to apply this model in teaching do not know the operating procedure of it. This study also described some practical cases about the application of flipped classroom model in Chinese oral class, Comprehensive course, culture class and writing class, recorded the teaching procedure and point out the advantages and disadvantages of the procedure design.Above all, the study explored the operating procedure and conditions of the application of flipped classroom model to teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages with the researcher’s practical teaching experiences. The procedure of flipped classroom model can be divided into three parts, before-class, in-class and after-class, and include learning content analysis, learning aim analysis, learners character analysis, before-class activities design, in-class activities design and instructional design introspection. This study gives some advice about how to apply flipped classroom model to teaching Chinese, at the same time, it is an object lesson in TCSOL model research.
