At present, the worsening global climate greatly affected people’s life, which makes the experts in atmospheric sciences realize the importance of seeking solution to climate change. Entrusted by the Research Center for Resource and Environment, Lanzhou Branch, Chinese Academy of Science, the author undertakes the project of translating related materials. Taking the relevant background information and some parallel texts describing the climate change as references, the author accomplishes the report successfully. This report illustrates the details of the implementation of the project and concludes the process of accomplishment of the translation project. The source text selected in this translation report is an excerpt(Chapter Two and Chapter Three) from the book “Successful Adaptation to Climate Change” and belongs to the scientific and technical text, which focuses on the information accuracy and readability. This translation report is mainly composed of five sections, including introduction, task description, translation process, case analysis and conclusion. With the guidance of Skopos theory, the author analyzes the language style and the wording of parallel texts and generalizes the difficulties in the translation process by using appropriate translation methods in specific examples, such as literal translation, conversion, affirmative-negative and addition and so on. The author expects that this translation practice report will be conducive to the translation practice of scientific and technical text and provide reference and enlightenment for the researchers in the field of atmospheric and sciences in China, who realizes the diversification and specification of solution coping with climate change,Therefore, the negative influence and some environmental risks from climate change will be reduced or avoided.
