Zhejiang is a big cultural province in P.R.C with a wide variety and rich cultural content and its under-developed areas hold the majority of ICH in the whole province. However, the inheritance and conservation of ICH in those areas is facing much critical trouble, such as aging and reducing quantities of the inheritors. Digital Image Technology represents the multi-media technology, which is applied to ranges of fields increasingly. Its advantages and characteristics happen to cover the disadvantages of traditional documentation of ICH.The paper casts light on an academic classification of ICH by means of example and research, introduces the current situation of ICH in those under-developed areas, and presents the advantages of digital image technology in the inheritance of ICH. In this paper, different digital means will be chosen to record according to different types of ICH, followed by new relative standards. Coming up with the best practice that digital image technology shall be used as the top priority in conservation of ICH in those areas, followed by the stipulation of the conservation principle. The realization of conservation and utilization of ICH from the traditional pattern to modern pattern becomes available, which could be the theoretic base for the decision-making for all-level governments. In addition, it also provides a solid guarantee and theoretic support for all, rapid development of Zhejiang provincial ICH, thus giving impetus to develop Zhejiang into a strong cultural province in the targeted way.
