1970s female directors as a number of new generation of directors, faced with the same problems in this generation.At the same time,in the male-dominated world of movies,it has become more difficulty about identity of the female directors.On the one hand,the unique perspective of women and the female consciousness makes different characteristics in their films.On the other hand, in the male-dominated world,female directors becomes vulnerable.But 1970s female films has very different from the previous works,more unique female perspective,and more colorful diverse images of women.In the context of the consumer society,women needs to play more value roles.This paper selected the chinese mainland 1970s female film directors.Discuss their works shot in the new era,and put the film-making problem into theoretical study,and discuss the significance of the actual creation.Finding the value of the woman’s life,breaking the hegemony of male discourse centers situation,building a harmonious world of gender equality.From the perspective of film study,: film narrative presentation of the cultural values behind it.Discussion about the way of making movies,narrative perspective, narrative role of the image, narrative structure.Combining feminist film theory, psychoanalytic theory, narrative theory, film theory and other methods of cultural Studies,to enhance the perceptions and understanding of the study.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction defines the methods of study.The second chapter discusses identity of 1970s female directors in the history. and the image in their films presented identity confusion.The third chapter is a about the 1970s female directors’ films.It’s specific focus on the unique female image works in narrative perspective,and different from the traditional image of women in the presentation,and differences with the same generation male filmmakers in the narrative structure and themes.To further proof of the female self-awareness in female directors’ works.The fouth chapter discusses the space problems in films, the unconventional cinematic language,it brought realistic aesthetic style.In the background of business culture,female directors try to exploring new types of the films,in fact they begin to lost the female consciousness.
