This is a translation report on The Amber Treasure written by Richard· Denning. The first two chapters of the book are mainly about a story happening in an Anglo-Saxon country in the 6th century. The hero Cerdic is a nephew of a warrior. Growing up in a quiet village, he dreams of the glories of battle and of the day his name written into the sagas. Then a true war comes, Cerdic joins the struggles that will determine the future of 6th century Britain, shows great leadership and courage to save his kingdom, and rescues his family.This report consists of four parts. The first part gives a main introduction to the report, including its main content, purpose and significance. The second part introduces the translation process. Then the third part talks about the translation problems and solutions. The last part is the conclusion.This paper is based on Yan Fu’s translation theory of "faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance" and tries to translate the novel with some relevant translation theories.
