For the past years, Harry Potter series have swept the world with astonishing popularity. It has achieved a great commercial success and led to a surge of Harry Potter, which has attracted a lot of attention to the English literature. Although there are many researches about Harry Potter at home and abroad, the analyses of females in the series are not much. From a new angle---eco-feminism, the thesis is going to explore the relationships between nature and females, the oppression and exploitation from males, the resistances from nature and females, and the harmony among the three.The thesis will fully excavate the concrete embodiments of eco-feminism in the series in order to have a thorough interpretation. The thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter Ⅰ offers the brief background information of the thesis, including the introduction of the novelist J. K. Rowling and Harry Potter, the aim and the significance, and the whole framework of the thesis.Chapter Ⅱ is a literature review of previous studies of Harry Potter at home and abroad from various perspectives.Chapter Ⅲ deals with the theoretical framework of the thesis, which includes three parts:the overview of Eco-feminism, including origins and developments; the Eco-feminist view of nature and female, including the symbolic links, the experiential links, the status links; the Eco-feminist view of male domination over nature and females.Chapter Ⅳ is the main part of the thesis, which focuses on the case study of Harry Potter series in Eco-feminist framework, including three aspects:the embodiments of symbolic links, experiential links, and status links; the male domination over females and nature; the resistances from females and nature and the harmony among males, females, and nature.Chapter Ⅴ is the conclusion of the thesis, including the findings, the limitations, and the expectations of the thesis.
