A Contrastive And Teaching Research On Euphemism Between Chinese And Russian

This essay mainly researches in the usage of euphemism in both Russian and Chinese. Referring to the standards of classification set by Zhang Hongui’s Chinese Euphemism Dictionary, it analyzes the similarities and differences between Russian and Chinese euphemisms by constantly comparing them. It cites lots of examples in the using of Russian and Chinese euphemisms by means of document consulting, data collection and Internet research.We can conclude that with basically same qualities, aims and usages and given their similar inclination to seek profits and avoid harm, the euphemisms in Chinese and Russian are equally similar. But stark differences are inherent in Russian and Chinese euphemisms, resulting from their different cultural and geographical conditions and thatIn the last part, we will offer some advice on the teaching in Chinese in terms of euphemisms for overseas students whose native language is Russian by various comparisons.Hopefully, this research will not only contribute to the teaching in Chinese in terms of euphemisms by offering constructive advice but also will it enrich the research in Chinese and Russian comparisons, Russian culture and Russian-Chinese translation.
