Lacquerware is one of the important categories of Chinese traditional arts and crafts, as a treasure of traditional Chinese culture, playing a role in the heritage and spread of Chinese splendid culture. In this modernized world, traditional lacquerware are tapering in our life, due to its expensive raw materials, complicated production process, improvement and change of people’s aesthetic, the decreasing number of craftsmen engaged in lacquer industry. Searching for the correspondency of traditional culture and modern art, it aims at injecting the new vitality into ancient traditional craft, and opening up new space for development from traditional cracks. Combining the lacquerware, these elements of traditional culture, with modern home furnishings can not only improve awareness of the audience on traditional culture, but also get a better inheritance and development of the lacquerware.The research and development of the lacquerware in Japan, South Korea, as well as Southeast Asian countries were summarized through reading the literature, practice research and other research methods and analyzing the development process of China’s traditional lacquerware, which provides great value and significance for exploring Han dynasty lacquerware decoration style in the application of the modern home furnishings. Secondly, the development process of the Han lacquerware, Han Dynasty lacquerware category and its value and influence are analyzed in a specific way. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis of the causes and characteristics of the Han Dynasty lacquerware Decorative style are made. Finally, taking “the art as the combination of traditional and modern for the purpose of practical features”[1]as a starting point, it is illustrated how to combine the Han Dynasty decoration with modern furnishings perfectly based on a lot of literature and research practice in this field. It also introduces Han dynasty lacquerware decoration style in the application of the modern home furnishings and analyzes the existing problems and shortcomings. It aims at the innovation and development of lacquer furnishings for building the modern home furnishings to put forward new ideas and new proposals with the new features of the times.
