After 1944,facing serious challenge of territorial division, the National Government which controlled Xinjiang regime attempted to construct the national identity by the power of literature.Therefore,the national government chose to promote modern Chinese literary activities through modern literature which was dominated by nationalism,and they constructed the link of maintenance for people of all nationalities in Xinjiang. By the national government’s efforts, modern Chinese literature established national identity successfully and achieved its own development.This study collected and analyzed relative historical data, did research on1944-1944 Xinjing modern Chinese Literary activities and its significance. Specific to each level, we pointed out the predicament the national government faced at that time and summarized their efforts for modern Literature development at first. Second, we combed Xinjing modern Chinese Literary activities taking modern literary journals,Literature associations and drama activities as the center. Different literary forms,such as poetry, novel,prose and drama were analyzed by representing the specific writing text as objects. We proposed the effects that Modern Chinese literary on the construction of national consciousness and negative autocracy and the effect on resisting dark reality.Finally, for national government, it should be valued great attention to make a positive evaluation of the initiatives to promote cultural development and pointed out the construction of cultural identity’s significance for the moment.
