A Study On The Foster’s Ecological Marxism

Human’s survival and development cannot live without nature.In the capitalist society, the productivity kept on increasing,and in order to meet people’s growing demand of life as well as to maximize the benefits, they exploited the natural resources too excessively,which led to a series of eco-environmental problems. Under the circumstances,Founded under the theory of Maxism and modern ecology,eco-Marxism was to ease the contradiction between the development of productivity and the eco-enviroment. Of which, the American ecological Marxist Foster had a further study on Max’s material transformation theory and the principles of ecology underlying in communist ideology, constructing Marx’s ecology, and made eco-Marxism to a new era.This paper makes a systematic study and research on Foster’s ecological thoughts of philosophy. Basing on the Marx’s material transformation theory and alienated labour theory, Foster exposes the origin of the eco-crisis of capitalism and criticizes anti-ecological essence of Capitalism.He advocates combining environmental justice movement and social justice movement.Additionally,Foster proposes a project of solving eco-crisis and constructing an ecological society, which is a new perspective on ecological and environmental problems, criticism of Capitalism and how to implement a ecological socialism.The last but not the least, Foster’s ecological thoughts of philosophy,which is of essential guiding significance for china to do a perpetual good job in constructing ecological civilization and finally build a beautiful china,just as the eighteenth National Congress of CPC proposed.Except the introduction, this paper is divided into three parts:The first part,systematically introducts the social and historical background and the theory origin of Foster’s philosophy thoughts of ecology; The second part, further discusses that the theoretical basis and the basic ideas of Foster’s philosophy thoughts of ecology; The third part, focus on the analysis of the theoretical contribution and limitations of Foster’s philosophy thoughts of ecology. The fourth part, combs the implication for China to the ecological civilization construction of socialism.
