The 21 st century is exclaimed as "Anti-American century" by scholars at home and abroad. From the post-Cold War era to now, Anti-American wave after another, and it swept through many countries and regions in the world. In today’s complex and changing international relations and the international situation, anti-American wave has been being one influential force. In many countries and regions which whip up antiAmerican movement, Anti-Americanism in Latin America is the most intense, the most durable and it can be described as the highest in the world. Anti-Americanism in Latin A merica has a strong typicality, and it has the most far-reaching impact. Therefore, the discussion and analysis of anti-Americanism after the Cold War in the Latin American region has an important reference value for us to grasp the development trend of the postCold War era of US-Latin American relations deeper,and to assess the future direction of US-Latin American relations more accurately,and to develop policies towards the United States and Latin America more effective. This paper from the manifestations, characeristics, and root causes of anti-Americanism in Latin America after the Cold War, as well as the impact of US-Latin American relations to explore the issues. The full text is organized as follows: The first part is mainly to define what is AntiAmericanism and brief overview of the rise of the global anti-Americanism after the Cold War. The second part focuses on the manifestations of anti-American wave in Latin America, mainly divided into three time periods to explore: anti-Americanism in Latin America before the Cold War; anti-Americanism in Latin America in the 1990s; Latin America in the 21 st century anti-Americanism. The third part focuses on the presented the characteristics of anti-Americanism in Latin America after the Cold War. The fourth part focuses on Why Latin America set off a wave of anti-Americanism, mainly from three angles to analyze the reasons: First, the United States policy in Latin America after the Cold War; Second, analyzing the impact of the Latin American Left for the anti-Americanism in Latin America; In addition, the analysis of other external factors promote anti-Americanism in Latin America. The fifth part focuses on the impact of anti-Americanism in Latin America to the relations between the United States and Latin America, and to make some predictions of the development of US-Latin American relations in the future.
