The author believes that we should jump out the fixed research pattern in the field of transaltion studies, which borrows western theoretical framework, and then is applied to the translation studies thesis. Hence, the topic of this paper is selected elaborately. The theory of this paper i.e. deconstructivism, has no systematic theory framework, and the figurative images(FI) of Jizi possesses local features completely. The invisible mainline of this paper is the spirit of deconstructivism.Ji is one genre of the Buddhist sutras also called Ji Song, Fo Ji, Ji Zi in Chinese, and named Gatha in Sanskrit. Sutras are the recorded of Buddha’s teaching in the form of long line of words. The study of Chinese-English translation of Ji Zi’s figurative image is worthwhile involving many aspects of translation studies both from diachronic and synchronic prospective, such as the classics translation, sutras translation, the comparative study with bible translation, ancient poem translation, the translation of the image of metaphor, the culture studies of translation, translation ethic, the translation of culture loaded terms, corpus translation and so on.However, this field of study has been barely touched upon, especially in the monographic studies. The translation of Buddhist sutra is probably involved in the study of literature translation, or classics translation, viewed as a branch field. Hence, few published articles, thesis or dissertation have stepped into this virgin land. Therefore, account of this research status, a tentative study of Buddhist sutra translation must be an emergency task. In the west, bible translation task has been continuously valued for a long time. But in China, this translation prosperity of Buddhist sutra only happened in Tang Dynasty, which assisted China to reach its top and helped China for thousands of years. In the modern time, many new theories and studies have popped out. Linguistics and translation studies absorbed many results from other disciplines, which must also provide many insights to the ancient topics of Buddhist sutra translation. This paper will base on the modern translation theories, especially the deconstruction thoughts of Benjamin, Derrida and Venuti, to studies one special aspect of figurative images of Jizi. But not confined by the western paradigm, from the studies of Buddhism, beneficial idea will light the spark of thinking to the both.
