Mingtaizu, born impoverished, established Ming Dynasty through years’ wars and fights. Despite of his war experiences, Mingtaizu attached great importance to education, and stressed this in his Shilu. Mingtaizu had found the top university, Guozixue, at the establishment of Ming Dynasty. Then, local school system, including “Ruxue”, Shexue, Xiangxue and Yixue, was set up afterward. “Ruxue” was core of local school system, burdening the primary educational mission.As the establishment of school system, the appropriate management system was designed and constituted. The management system of school in Ming Dynasty was a comparatively complete system, and departments in the central and local governments were involved in. Li department and Duchayuan were central management department, and Tixueguan and Tidiaoguan were local offices in charge of schools. This management system of school system was growing toward perfection step by step.Although a comprehensive management system had been established, “Ruxue”, as the most important part of the local school system in Ming Dynasty, faced all kinds of corrupt practices, including the destroy of management and challenge from Shuyuan.The author has collected some local educational regulations, which were published during Jiangjing period in Ming Dynasty and in Southern areas. The main contents of local educational regulations searched by the author are about the rectify of “Ruxue” in Southern areas of Ming Dynasty.This paper is organized as followed:First part is about the background of the rectify of “Ruxue” in Southern areas of Jiajing period in Ming Dynasty. In this part, the school system in Ming Dynasty and management system of school in Ming Dynasty will be stated. The corrupt practices in “Ruexue” and the challenges from Shuyuan will be explained in the third section of this chapter.Next part is the contents of the rectify of “Ruxue” in Southern areas of Jiajing period in Ming Dynasty. Contents in this chapter are all from local educational regulations collected by the author, and will be summarized and analyzed in accordance with the objects.The last part is issues related with the rectify of “Ruxue” in Southern areas of Jiajing period in Ming Dynasty. In this part, the legislation of local educational regulations is the core.
