With the continuous development of globalization and China's opening up,the communication between China and other foreign countries is increasingly frequent on trade and culture,thus,the importance of legal translation highlights.Similarly,local regulations also play an important role in foreign exchange in the local provinces.And this practice report is about the translation of Hebei special equipment safety supervision regulations and Hebei civil airport clearance and electromagnetic environment protection measures.In this report,the writer mainly discusses translation strategies of local regulations.The report is divided into four chapters.Chapter one,the brief introduction to this translation project,mainly expounds the significance and the present situation of legal text translation and introduces the translation project.Chapter two states the preparation of the translation,which includes the analysis to legal text and the preparation of assistant tool.Chapter three focuses on the case analysis,which is the central part of the report.It gives an introduction to the problems writer encountered in translation,including choice of diction and syntax,as well as specific solutions.In terms of choice of diction,it analyses the strategy of context translation to general vocabulary,elliptical or explanatory translation to vocabulary with Chinese characteristics,substituted translation to macro vocabulary and conversion translation to legal vocabulary.In terms of syntax,it discusses the strategy of supplementary translation to elliptical sentences,passive translation to the clause without subject,equivalent translation to imperative sentences,infinitive translation to semantic and progressive sentences and “three steps of logical translation” to complicated sentences.Chapter four is the last chapter,which is about the summary to this translation practice and inspiration for the future.By this translation practice,the writer concludes some translation strategies for local regulations so as to provide some references for other translators.
