Category Theory is an important concept of cognitive linguistics. The basic-level category is in the center. People begin to understand the world from the basic-level category, upward it gradually developing into the upper level, downward it evolved into the lower level. In language, the basic-level terms are simple,word-building ability, language neutral colors, etc. Through the research of the basic-level category theory, we found that it has great value in the Vocabulary Teaching in the TCFL."The Outline of HSK Vocabulary" is a guiding document, it mainly based on the frequency statistics of native Chinese speakers. A-Class words are for the beginners and they should master the vocabulary for further study. This paper on the "Outline of A-Class words category classification, labeling and extraction methods in accordance with the basic category of the words, then extract the basic-level terms. At the primary learning stage, we should pay attention to the basic-level terms, so that Chinese learners in the early stages of learning through basic-level category of words, build a basic-level network, laying the foundation for the senior phase of learning and expanding vocabulary. There are several aspects of our presentation from the methods of teaching basic-level terms, for example: the presentation of words, the explaining methods, the meaning and the association and the match between words, the contrast between Chinese and the learner’s native language, the consolidation and expansion of words.There are subjects remaining to be further studied: the number of basic-level terms in TCFL, the internal status of the basic-level terms, etc.
