The volunteers for Chinese teaching program since launched in 2004 has runned by Hanban in a more-than-10-year history. During this period, the amount of person-time reaches 30 thousands up. The volunteer teahcers has suffered the whole progress of cross-cultural adaption. While the volunteer teachers went back their homeland, they were facing the progress of re-entry cultural adaption. Based on this point, the research selected the volunteer teachers who served in Confucius Institute in Philippines as the investigation object, applying the questionaire and interview as the investigation methods to exmaine, describe and analyze the cross-cultural adaption and re-entry cultural adaption in details. As same as combined with the theories from overseas and domestic, the researcher studied the defination of cross-cultural adaption from Powell and Herskovits,Robert·Redfield, Linton, dicussed the culture shock theories from Oberg, also considered the influencing factors come up from Berry, Searl,Ward. As well as we took in a lot of theories from overseas, the researcher also applied some empirical research by Anran, Zhu Guohui, Yang Junhong from domestic. The thesis focus on life changes, demographic factors, language level, cultural identity as the influencing factors for cross-cultural adaption. The ANOVA(Analysis of variance) and Spearman correlation analysis are applied as the main research technique. The research gets some conclusions: from the analysis of influencing factors for cross-cultural adaption, we found that there is no differences of cross-cultural adaption on demographic factors; the differences on sociocultural adaption is related with the adaptors’ english level and educational degree; the environmental adaption is not related with the whole cross-cultural adaption and teacher role adaption but it is related with sociocultural adaption and mental adaption; Interpersonal interaction influences cross-cultural as the whole one also as its parts. Language compentence influences only the mental adaption; original cultural identity only influences sociocultural adaption.By the time the researcher combined the theories from Gullahon’s W-curve cultural adaption model which descirbed the cultual adaption in cross-culture and re-entry periods with the domestic empirical studies from Li Jing. The researcher selects cultural identity and its changes, psychological preparation for re-entry,cross-cultural adaption in Philippines as the influencing factors for re-entry cultural adaption. For re-entry adaption, original cultural identity can influence the re-entry cultural value shock of re-entry adaption but the changes of original cultural identity can not. The influence of psychological preparation for re-entry is not statistically significant too. The stastical work shows the positive correlation between sociocultural adaption and re-entry cultural value shock.
