A Report On The Translation Of Installation And Safety Operation Instructions For Crane

“Installation and Safety Operation Instructions for Crane”, which is the latest additional provisions to the Instructions, is written and approved by Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus. It elaborates the structure of the crane as well as the conditions and environment of the operation, thus its translation provides technical guidance and experience for the production and export of cranes in China.Based on the translation project of “Installation and Safety Operation Instructions for Crane”, this report mainly analyzes some translation problems, such as the translation of terms, conversion of word classes, and adjustment of sentence patterns. Owing to the language and cultural differences between Russian and Chinese, translators should pay more attention to interference factors and use various translation methods, such as literal translation and free translation. On the basis of fully understanding the source text, translators should ensure the accurate translation of terms, convert some word classes, and adjust sentence patterns properly to conform to Chinese expression habits.This report also analyzes the lexical collocation and translation of minor sentences, and then proposed corresponding solutions.
