Since October 2nd, 2013, when President Xi Jinping put forward the initiative to set up the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB), the AIIB has attracted worldwide attention. It is a multilateral mechanism in investing and financing and aims at promoting the development of infrastructure in Asia. All regional and non-regional countries, developing and developed countries are welcome to join the program of investing and financing. From this, more and more reports about the AIIB come out and also there are many relevant TV lectures. Focusing on this current hot topic, the author chose one episode titled “Inside the AIIB” from the series of “China Forum” of Phoenix TV, which was lectured by Professor Cao Honghui, deputy director of the Institute for China Development Bank, to do a simulated simultaneous interpreting(SI) practice. The author analyzes the typical problems in the simulated SI practice and proposes countermeasures in the thesis. The author improves her SI ability through the simulated SI practice, which in turn gives her a clear direction for further study. In addition, the author also explores the SI skills for TV lectures, hoping to contribute to the study in this field. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of the task, in which the background and requirement of the task are discussed thoroughly, so does the audience analysis. The second chapter mainly describes the procedures of the task, which includes the preparation, process of the simulated SI and the post assessment. The third chapter is the source text analysis. In this chapter, the author analyzes the source text from three aspects, covering the text introduction, language features and difficulties for interpreting. The last chapter focuses on the problems and countermeasures. With reference to specific cases, the author classifies and analyzes the problems in the simulated SI practice, and gives coping strategies in the light of the Interpretive Theory.
