Reorganization And Study On The Ancient Initial Consonant Of The Warring States Bamboo Manuscripts Collected By Tsinghua University(â… ~â…¤)

This thesis makes a complete revision of all interpretations in the Warring States Bamboo Strips Collected by Tsinghua University(I~V) authored by Li Xueqin and published by Research and Conservation Center for Excavated Texts, Tsinghua University. The author collects Phonetic materials, including Alternative Characters, Phonetic Compound Characters, Graphic Variants and derivation characters. Based on them, the author makes a table named Collection of Initial Consonant Materials. The table labels initial consonant information separately and lists the origins of the texts thoroughly. Then, there is a collation and demonstration of characters and phonetics of important examples. After that, the thesis provides the latest statistics for the connection of Phoneme Groups in ancient initial consonant as well as for some controversial issues on ancient initial consonant.This thesis is composed of four parts.The first part is an introduction to research background, research scope, research objectives and significance. This part also summarizes previous study on the interpretation of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips, previous study on the research of Old Chinese Phonology by Bamboo Slips and Silk of Chu State and previous study on ancient initial consonant.The second part is Collection of Initial Consonant Materials. The table is arranged by mediaeval times initial consonant from Characters of Bamboo Slips of Chu State. Then the thesis classifies its phonetic compound serials into different units and lists initial consonant information and the origins of the texts. After that, there is a collation and demonstration of characters and phonetics of important examples.The third part is an analysis of ancient initial consonant. On the basis of Statistical Table, the thesis reveals the connection of Phoneme Groups in ancient initial consonant in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips and concludes the features of initial consonant system.The last part is an appendix, including the General Table: the relationship of Initial Consonant in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(I~V) and the Interpretations of Warring States Bamboo Strips Collected by Tsinghua University(I~V). The general table lists examples in the analysis from Tsinghua Bamboo Slips. The interpretations utilizes the latest study results of Tsinghua Bamboo to revise the original interpretations and lists opinions different from authors by means of annotations.
