Death attitude is one’s beliefs and feelings of the phenomenon of death, as well as a variety of opinions and emotions in the face of death. In the past, the research on death attitude was focus on the fear and anxiety, which was negative. As the developing of death attitude research and the measuring tools, researchers recognized that the attitude toward death was complex. For a more comprehensive understanding of death cognition and emotion, death attitude will be explored in this study.In recent years, the growing phenomenon that high school students ignore lives has made the research of death attitude to become hot issues. Foreign countries and areas of Hongkong and Taiwan have accumulated rich theoretical and empirical research results on attitude death, and domestic research in this area has just begun. This research is based on the system combing with the review of the literature at home and abroad about death attitude. A total of 464 high school students from two high schools in Huangang participated in the study. Students were sampled to fill out Death Attitude Profile-Revised, Experiences in Close Relationships, Social Support Rating Scale and a self-made general demographic questionnaire. The result suggests that:1. Generally speaking, neutral acceptance ranked the highest among high school students’ attitudes toward death, followed by the death escape, death fear, approach acceptation, and escape acceptation which means most of high school students see death as a natural process.2. On the Death Attitude Scale, gender, family form, family death education style, taking part in the funeral ceremony, contacting about the book or course of death were significant, whiles grade, physical health level were not significant.3. The score of attachment avoidance was significantly positively correlated with neutral acceptance; Attachment anxiety was significantly positively correlated with death fear, death escape, approach acceptation, escape acceptation; The score of subjective social support, objective social support, social support utilization, social support was significantly positively correlated with escape acceptation. Social support utilization, social support were significantly positively correlated with death escape. Adult attachment had certain predictive power of death attitude, social support had certain predictive power of death attitude.4. Social support moderated the relationship between adult attachment and death attitude, to be specific, social support utilization significantly moderated the relationship between attachment anxiety and escape acceptation.
