The Investigation Report About Chinese Teaching Situation Of Chinese Department In ChiangMai Rajabhat University In Thailand

In recent years, with the speeding up of globalization and the improvement of China’s international status, it raised a hot wave of learning Chinese in the world. As a friendly neighbor which is into the Chinese landscape and has the similar culture to China, Thailand highly promote people to learn Chinese. With the boom of Thai government advocating people learning Chinese, the primary schools, middle schools and universities in Thailand have started to establish the Chinese language courses. ChiangMai Rajabhat University established the Chinese education specialty early. And the Chinese department of ChiangMai Rajabhat University is fomous for its large scale and good teaching quality in Thailand. Based on my one-year internship experience in Chinese specialty in ChiangMai Rajabhat University, I have carried on comprehensive investigation and analysis of the present Chinese teaching situation of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. My purpose is to understand the characteristics of Chinese teaching situation of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University,as well as find some problems in it. I tentatively put forword some improvement suggestions. Let the academics of teaching Chinese as the second language learn more about the Chinese teaching work of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. And provide beneficial reference to Chinese teaching work of other universities in Thailand. And further enrich the Chinese teaching research results in Thailand.The research object of this paper is the present Chinese teaching situation of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. Through the field survey method, interview method, data analysis, case analysis, classroom observation and other methods,1 have carried on comprehensive investigation and analysis of the Chinese teaching situation of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. This paper emphatically describes the students, teachers, teaching objectives, curriculum setting, textbook selection, the content of the teaching methods, teaching evaluation, classroom management and so on.The results show that, there are some unique advantages in the Chinese teaching of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. The Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University has larger enrolment and scale in the same type of universities. In profession settings, there are Chinese education speciality and Chinese humanities speciality, the develop goals are specific. And the teachers in Chinese department is enough, Chinese teachers and Thai teachers have the division of teaching,thus to ensure the teaching quality and effect. In the curriculum, the curriculum is very comprehensive. The Chinese department also pay attention to language practice. It sets up Chinese language and culture laboratory, convenient to carry out a variety of Chinese cultural activities. At the same time, the Chinese department pay attention to combining geographical advantage to promote Chinese culture and has exchange activities with Chinese department of other universities, thus to cultivate the students’ ability in comprehensive Chinese application.Through study, we also find that there are also some disadvantages in Chinese teaching of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University. In the curriculum, the set time of grammar lesson is not reasonable, and lack of Chinese character lessons, practical and communicative lessons. Teachers’ ability to use the textbooks needs to be improved. Teachers’ teaching method is unitary, and lack of teaching enthusiasm. Teachers’ ability of classroom management needs to be improved. The way of assessment of students is single and the evaluation system of teachers is imperfect and lack of incentive mechanism.For the problems reflected in Chinese teaching of Chinese department in ChiangMai Rajabhat University, we put forward some specific and operational recommendations. We think that, Chinese department should make a little adjustment of curriculum. Teachers should strengthen the ability of secondary adaptation of textbooks. Teachers should adopt diverse teaching methods and pay attention to earnestly practice and improve the ability of classroom management. Chinese department should improve the system of students’ tests, increase test at ordinary times and adopt diversified forms of examination, and perfect the appraisal system for teachers, increase the incentive mechanism.
