Negative emotions, also known as passive emotions, is a kind of a subjective nervous and unpleasant emotions which are produced by the individual in response to external stimuli. It contains a series of an emotional experience of resistance and abhor, like guilt, anger, depression, fear, etc. The focus of this study was the main source of medical students’ negative emotions.The research mainly includes two parts:The first part: Design the questionnaire of the source of medical students’ negative emotions.Through literature study, interview, opening questionnaire investigation. The research preliminarily constructed the theoretical dimensions of the source of medical students’ negative emotions, and the research designed the initial questionnaire on the basis of the theoretical dimensions. Through the measurement, item analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, the research finally constructed four dimensions, including self-esteem and self-evaluation, self development and career development, learning and the environment and love, and made the formal questionnaire. Finally, made the reliability and validity test for the questionnaire and established the reliability coefficient was 0.902. Through the confirmatory factor analysis, the questionnaire had a good fit indicator.The results showed that,non-single child in self development and career development factor’s score was significantly higher than that of single-child. There was significant difference between different grade in each factor score of the source of medical students’ negative emotions. Grade three students in self-esteem and self-evaluation, self development and career development, learning and environment,love factors’ scores and total score were significantly higher than that of freshman and sophomore. In self development and career development,love factors’ scores and total score freshman were significantly higher than sophomore. It indicated that sophomore had the most negative emotions.Two-parent families growth of medical students in self-esteem and self-evaluation, self development and career development, learning and environment,love factors’ scores and total score were significantly higher than that non two-parent families growth of medical students, and had less negative emotional experience.In summary,the conclusions were as follows:The source of medical students’ negative emotions questionnaire compiled in this study has good reliability and validity, satisfied the requirements of psychometrics and index. The questionnaire can be the tool for measuring and grasping the source of the medical students’ negative emotions in clinical and school education management.Analyzing the characteristics of medical students’ negative emotions source, found that single-child had more negative emotions in self development and career development. Analyzing the grade differences, grade three students had the least negative emotions and sophomore had the most negative emotions. Two-parent families children had less negative emotions than the single structure and other special family structures’ children.
