The purpose of research:Gratitude is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation,and it is also one of the most influential personality traits of positive psychology.This study attempts to underst and the situation of senior high school students’ gratitude and individual differences under Chinese cultural background.Through the research of intervention experimnt to explore that group counseling intervention is an effective means to improve the senior high school students’ gratitude level.To provide reference for the related application and theory research.Research object and method:This article have two research.ResearchⅠinvestigates gratitude status of senior high school students; ResearchⅡ designed and verified the operability and effectiveness of the developing group psychological counseling, improving the level of senior high school students’ gratitude through group counseling. Study one adopted the cluster sampling method and using the Adolescent Gratitude Scale to conduct a questionnaire survey,which selected 960 senior high school students as subjects,including 912 valid subjects in 3 high schools in Hunan Province,and uses SPSS22.0 to analyze the survey data.Study two adopted pre-and-post tests on the experimental group and control group, under the premise of balanc gender and grade,selected 16 students as the experimental group members from the low score group of a middle school,they are all voluntary participation, hope to improve the level of gratitude,control group members were also randomly selected from the group of students who were grateful to the group.The experimental group are engaged in a ten-times group counseling,and to make a post-test between the two groups a week after counseling,Tracking survey the experimental group two months later.Research results:1.As a whole, the gratitude quality of senior high school students in China are positive, but still needs to be improved. And the dimensions of development is not balanced,the parents/relatives dimension got the highest score, the natural dimension got the lowest score,and with little difference among country/society,friends and teachers.There are substantive differences in gender, grade, only child or not, student cadre or not,subsidy or not, single parent family or not,mother’s cultural levels.There is no significant difference of gratitude in hometown location and father’s cultural levels.2.Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the total score of gratitude and the five dimensions,they are two homogeneous groups.After the intervention, The members of two groups behaved a significant difference in the total score of gratitude and five dimensions; the experimental group after the test score with a pre-test score difference inspection, has significantly increased,The pre-test and post-test results of the control group showed no significant difference,and the difference between the experimental group and the control group was significant; conducted a tracking test on the experimental group two month later,found that experimental group tracking test score was no significant difference as the pre-test score.3.Qualitative analysis showed that the group counseling satisfaction was high,group members believe that group counseling enhanced their sense of gratitude, learned and gained a lot in group counseling.Research conclusion :1.As a whole, the gratitude quality of senior high school students in China are positive,and exist significant differences in some demographic variables.2. Group counseling can effectively improve the level of senior high school students’ gratitude,and has a continuous counseling effect,it can promote gratitude affection feasibly and effectively.3. The study aimed at gratitude of senior high school students design group psychological counseling scheme has has operability and effectiveness,what can be used as are ference in school gratitude education.
