Investigating The Editing Styles Of Complex Sentences In Chinese Textbooks For Foreigner

The complex sentences is an important project in Chinese grammar. It is more important and difficult in teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching. As an important way to study Chinese for overseas students, the scientific and practical of teaching materials play a decisive role in the teaching effect. Therefore, in this paper, the author reviews the compiling of the teaching content regarding the complex sentences in Developing Chinese-Intermediate Comprehensive Course I and II, and compares these two textbooks with the teaching objectives given in the Syllabus for Chinese-majored Foreign Students in Institutions of Higher Learning.And the review helps the author find problems existing in complex sentences teaching compiled in the textbooks, and then the author puts forward some specific recommendations for compiling and improving the textbooks.The full text altogether five chapters,the concrete content as follows:The first chapter is the introduction part.This part include the background of choosing the topic,literature review,research contents and study methodology.The second chapter examines how the sentences are organized in the Developing Chinese-Intermediate Comprehensive Course I and I.In this chapter, we simply compare the several common sentence classification method,and investigate the condition of the compound sentence format in the textbook selection.We found that there are mainly three kinds of condition that complex sentences are organized in teaching notes :one is according to the text is required for the emergence of complex sentence format, second is grammar points related to the compound format, and third is to explain the new knowledge of the old grammar knowledge. In addition, we also investigated the arrangement situation of the practice.The third chapter is the analysis of the comparison between Developing Chinese-Intermediate Comprehensive Course and Syllabus for Chinese-majored Foreign Students in Institutions of Higher Learning.In this chapter, we defined the instructional objectives of complex sentences for intermediate level students in the Syllabus, and compared the teaching materials and the syllabus. Here, it is pointed out the complex sentence the teaching materials corresponding to the Syllabus requirements, and not conforming to the requirements of the complex sentence, which lays a foundation for further analysis.The fourth chapter make the suggestions that putting forward in the textbook compiling of teaching complex sentence. In this chapter, we take the principle of textbook compilation as the standard, the teaching objectives in Syllabus for the specific comparison object, the predecessors’ previous studies about the acquisition order as a reference.The problems existing in the teaching material arrangement are further investigated. In this paper, the author makes specific recommendations to improve the compiling of the complex sentences teaching in the textbook based on the implementation of requirements made in the Syllabus, the strengthening of grammar notes and the improvement of exercises compiling.The last part is the conclusion. The conclusion part summarizes the main content of this paper, and explains the deficiency of this paper. We expect to there are more people to pay attention to the problems on compiling textbooks, and make a contribution to the improvement of textbook compilation.
