A Practice Report On Complex Sentence Patterns In English-Chinese Translation Of The Creativity Code:How AI Is Learning To Write,paint And Think

Creativity is the impetus of nation’s development.In recent years,with global economic level improved,many countries regard the cultivation of creation and the promotion of creativity as their new direction.At the same time,they gradually pay attention to the emerging technology industry.The key of this kind of industry is the creativity under the guidance of innovation.In the new government work report,premier Li Keqiang also issued instructions of adhering to the innovation-led development in emerging industry.If our country wants to achieve this goal,we must understand the nature of creativity and find out the approach of innovated development on emerging technology industry.Therefore,the translation of the book about creativity is very important.In view of this,the author chose the English version of The Creativity Code:How A1 is learning to write,paint and think as the original text,analyzed the translation problems and discussed the solutions of complex sentence reconstruction in English-Chinese translation practiceThe original text belongs to social scientific texts,mainly introduces the nature of creativity.After the translation of some chapters,the author analyzed complex sentences and found out the following problems:First,the structure of some sentences is complex;Second,some sentences are constructed with various modifiers;Third,the syntactic function of English sentences is really different from Chinese.To solve these problems,the author considered adopting the corresponding solutions.Cutting reconstruction method and the comprehensive reconstruction method were used to solve the problem of complex structure;Splitting reconstruction method and embedding reconstruction method were used to solve the problem of various modifiers;Increasing or decreasing reconstruction method and the displacement of reconstruction method were used to solve the problem of different syntactic function.All these could make the translation become more fluentThe author analyzed the problem of the reconstruction of complex sentence patterns in the process of E-C translation practice and formulated the corresponding strategies so as to provide reference for the translation of relevant texts in the future.
