Objective: By exploring the relationship among self-efficacy,job involvement and job performance;and the mediating role of job involvement,provide reference for direct sales staff to increase their job performance.Methods: Do a questionnaire survey of 266 direct sales staff of 5 Direct Selling Company(94 male and 172 female)by using the General Self-efficacy Scale, Job Involvement Scale and Job Performance Scale.Results:(1) For the self-efficacy sense, job involvement,job performance of direct sales staff, there has no significant differences between man and woman, but other demographic variables such as education, monthly average income, work experience do have a big influence.(2) Increasing self-efficacy can improve job performance and job involvement greatly.(3) Job involvement has a significant impact on job performance.(4) Job involvement play a partial mediating role on the impact of self-efficacy on job performance.Conclusions:(1) The self-efficacy, job involvement and job performance are not affected by gender.They are affected by demographic variables, such as education, monthly average income, and work experience.(2) Improving the self-efficacy of direct selling staff at work can greatly increase their jobinvolvement and job performance.(3) The higher work engagement of the direct sales staff, the higher work performance, and vice versa.(4) The self-efficacy of direct selling staff affect their job performance through job involvement. Job involvement is the mediating variable between self-efficacy and job performance.
