This study used quantitative and qualitative research to examine the status of adult idolatry in early adulthood,found the relationship among idol worship,selfefficacy and loneliness,and to verify the mediating effect of self-efficacy between idol worship and loneliness.In addition,research had explored the factor behind the influence of idolatry on delusional groups.This study is divided into two parts.The first part is quantitative research and the second part is qualitative research.In the quantitative study,630 individuals who is in the early adulthood(18-25 years old)were tested idolatry attitude scale(CAS-R),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),and Loneliness Scale(UCLA).The results of the questionnaire survey were used to analyze the degree of involvement of idol worship and its relationship with selfefficacy and loneliness,and to verify the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the involvement of idolatry and loneliness.In qualitative research,study attempt to integrate and code influencing factors behind delusional groups through depth interviews.In the end of the quantitative and qualitative research,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Communicative group is the largest number of fans in early adulthood according to the overall situation of fans' idolatry.Most of the admirers' worship of idols are rational,and they are healthy worship.(2)The loneliness of fans in early adulthood is higher than that of other groups,and the span is relatively large.(3)Degree of involvement in idolatry can significantly predict self-efficacy and loneliness;self-efficacy can also predict loneliness in reverse.(4)The sense of self-efficacy is a mediator of the involvement of idolatry and loneliness,and plays a role of partial mediation.(5)The main characteristics of the delusional group's involvement in extreme idol worship are their dissatisfaction with their current status,which is mainly manifested in the two aspects: low self-efficacy and loneliness,the fanaticism of delusional group fans induce them addiction.This kind of fans' addiction to idolatryis mainly reflected in the two aspects: rollercoaster experience and excessive spiritual dependence in the process of idol worship;among other factors affecting the extreme delusional groups,the maturity of the early adult play an important role which depends mainly on the age of early adulthood.
