With the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching materials, textbooks illustration are particularly important as the most essential component. It is good to illustrate the language directly, not only can it elaborate visually the words or messages that you want to express, but also can make the emotional factors the readers experience portray throughout various screens. So, the set of textbooks illustration plays a great important role in the content quality, the effectiveness of teaching and other factors.In this paper, we use Development Chinese comprehensive textbooks as our main object of study, and we have a research on the following aspects: the number, type and the content of the textbooks illustration and the factor which can influence the textbooks illustration. Then we give some advice.We divide this paper into five chapters.In the first chapter, we have an analysis on the current situation of the comprehensive course and set forth the purpose, content and ways and so on.In the second chapter, from the aspects of elementary stage, intermediate stage and advanced stage. We have a study on the quantitative analysis from the number and types of the three stages shows that the textbooks illustration of elementary comprehensive course is larger than the other stages, then, from the types of the three, the textbooks illustration of Development Chinese are based on picture frame, forms and photos.In the third chapter, from the content of textbooks illustration, we have an analysis on the corresponding aspects of textbooks illustration and content, the coincidence degree between the textbooks illustration and the text content and the specific use of the cultural connotation illustration.In the last two chapters, after having a comparison with other course, we will put up with some advice for this teaching material and then have a conclusion on this study and come up with a few deficiencies. This paper attempts to offer some help throughout the study of the textbook illustration of teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching materials.
