Illustration,a non-pure text material.Used to understand the contents of memory texts,to supplement explanatory texts,and to provide background information for texts of textbooks to help professors better complete teaching tasks.It is an important part of the textbook for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and it is also the best and most direct language for interpreting words.It can not only visually visualize the text content and information in the textbook,but also arouse the interest of learners,and assist the learners to overcome language barriers and master text information in a more intuitive way.The illustrations have a very important role in the content of the textbooks and the teaching effects.Since the illustrations are set in the international Chinese education community,there is no uniform standard,which leads to problems such as low consistency of illustrations and texts,and single illustrations.The need for practical teaching and learning.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the quality of the illustrations of the textbooks based on the actual teaching from the perspective of the user,and select the illustrations that meet the actual needs.To this end,the author combines the quantitative statistical method and the comparative analysis method,first summarizes and analyzes the status and characteristics of the illustrations of the two primary comprehensive teaching materials,and then investigates the actual use of the illustrations of the textbooks,and finally analyzes the data based on the literature research and survey results.Relevant suggestions on the use of graphic illustrations and layout design are proposed in a targeted manner.It is hoped that this study will give a better attempt to popularize and effectively use the illustrations of the textbooks for elementary Chinese comprehensive courses,and give full play to the practical effects of illustrations,so that the illustrations of the textbooks are more scientific and rational.At the same time,it is expected that the exploration of this issue will attract the attention of scholars to a certain extent,and more high-quality international Chinese textbooks will be deployed from the perspective of textbook users.
