With the development of science and technology,the progress of the society,followed by the era of visual and picture-reading.The application of illustrations in books has a long history.In the rapid development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,it is the focus of the researchers to construct the textbook which is full of interest and deeply welcomed by the users through scientific and clever use of illustrations.However,at present,there are still many shortcomings in Chinese teaching as a foreign language textbook illustrations.Therefore,based on certain principles,we select four sets of comprehensive and adult-oriented Chinese textbooks for primary Chinese as a foreign language.Taking the illustrations as the research objects and combining the methods of quantitative analysis,comparative analysis and investigation,we examine the teaching material illustrations in configuration and utilization,and analyze the problems existing in the form and content of the textbook illustrations,and then put forward some suggestions for the design and utilization of the textbooks illustrations so as to provide some suggestions for the improvement,utilization and development of the textbooks illustrations.
