Higher Education Entrance Examination of Chinese in Thailand is a required ability test for students who want to choose Chinese associated majors. Though the quantity of Chinese learners in Thailand is increasing impressively in recent years, their grade in Chinese ability tests still can’t meet our expectation. Higher Education Entrance Examination of Chinese, by another name " The Professional Aptitude Test 7.4", PAT7.4 for short, having Chinese Grammar with 30% of its test points, which rates in the first place of its amount among all the test points in the tested questions. The author think it is necessary to give a paper analysis on the over years’test papers of its grammar section.Based on the study of the current grade distribution of PAT7.4, this thesis analyzed the question types of the grammar section on the study of the test paper through 2009 to 2011, and gave a statistic analysis of each particular grammar points. And this thesis also made investigations on the current situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand’s high school and the problems existed in the grammar section of PAT7.4 by interviewing high school Chinese teachers and giving questionnaires to students of 12th grade (students who are going to take PAT7.4).Through study the author finds out that teaching hours, the time length of learning Chinese and PAT7.4 grade are the three factors affect students’satisfaction on the PAT7.4 test questions, teaching materials and teaching. By interview the high school Chinese teachers the author also found problems existed in PAT7.4 such as the test points been tested are too hard for the learners and the monotony designation of test questions. Suggestions to each question also been provided by the author. The author hope the study in this thesis can help high school Chinese teachers get a better acknowledge of the grammar section of PAT7.4, so as to provide their students with better teaching contents, and help the students get a better grade in their PAT7.4.
