Xiao Hong is one of famous women writers in the history of modern Chinese literature. Mr. Lu Xun called Xiao Hong the most promising writer in China of the period. In the 1930s, Xiao Hong obtained great success in the literary world.since then, readers and researchers have shown great interest in the unique charm of her works and her complex life and legendary experience, which have been studied widely. There are abundant research results in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United States, Japan and South Korea. Upon the investigation of the research literature of Xiao Hong, the author did not find Xiao Hong’s works and related research studies existing in the author’s country-Thailand. Therefore, the study aims to make certain contributions to promoting research of Xiao Hong.Objects of the study include three representative works of Xiao Hong, i.e., Spring in a Small Town, The Field of Life and Death and Tales ofHulan River. The study intends to apply the method of close reading, to analyze and discuss the relationship of season (time), space and fates of the characters. The study contents include three chapters:the first chapter, analyzing the multi-meaning of "spring" in Spring in a Small Town, exploring factors that cause the spring-like short lifespan of Cuiyi, discovering similar fate between Cuiyi and Xiao Hong, demonstrating the links of "spring" and the fate of characters; the second chapter, discussing the impact of seasons on space environment and the fate of the characters, focusing on writing features that represent humans by using animals and reflecting the close relationship between humans and livestock, and pointing that in The Field of Life and Death, humans and all beings on earth experience life and death in the cycle of seasons, which is the cycle of life in an isomorphic relationship; and the third chapter, introducing the northeast winter in Tales ofHulan River, analyzing the public space "Hulan River" of the story and the private space "backyard garden" and "storeroom" of Xiao Hong, and highlighting Xiao Hong, whose life is cold and lonely, and who tried to scatter cold in the real world in the fantasy form of childhood memory.
