The Characteristic Of Wordsworth’s Lyric Poetry—From The View Of The Literary Technique

William Wordsworth is pioneer of English romantic poetry,he and Coleridge published “ lyrical ballads” in 1798, this book was seen as a sign of romantic poetry in the English.The research about his poetry and poetry theory always a lot.This paper will adopt Sumin’s literary technique and under the reference of Burns lyric poetry to discuss the characteristic of Wordsworth’s lyric poetry.Relative to the Burns poetry, Wordsworth poetry is more implicit and philosophy, perhaps this is the most common reading experience, why is implicit and philosophy?Many readers may not delve into why, in this paper, using the structure method try to decipher Wordsworth lyric characteristics, which means that he actually used to make the lyrics have implicit and philosophy characteristic.This paper mainly divided into two parts:The first part:To analysis Wordsworth lyric poetry and Burns lyric poetry under the minimalliterary technique.By the minimal literary technique segmentation approach,we can see that Wordsworth lyrics always use narration and description,fewer use lyrical;Burns more use lyrical.Wordsworth lyric poetry use discussion than Burns lyric poetry.From the view of Wordsworth’s narrative poetry,narrative poetry use more narration,lyric poetry use more discussion,and the same is less use lyrical.The second part:To analysis Wordsworth lyric poetry and Burns lyric poetry under integrate literary technique.In the integrate technique level,Wordsworth’s lyric poetry mainly consists of natural images,text layout is the natural images and inner image always have narrative due,natural images is mostly made up of the natural scenery description and characterization,and inner image is mostly made up of discussion and psychological description;the natural image of Burns’ Lyrics haven’t narrative clue,inner image is mostly composed of lyric.From the view of Wordsworth’s narrative poetry,it can be see that,narrative poetry is mainly based on events,lyric poetry is mainly based on images;narrative poetry text layout is more complex,lyric poetry is mostly from the natural image to inner image.
