The promotion of China’s comprehensive national strength and the rapid development of international trade cause that the Chinese cu lture and Chinese was welcom ed by more and more people. The num ber of People who learns Chinese in Africa is b ecoming bigger and bigger. Chinese textbooks written must conform to the students’ needs of dif ferent classes, different stages, and different level.This paper combining with foreign language classroom practice experience in Confucius Institute of Burundi University, on the basis of predecessors’ research at home and abroad in recent years, concludes the achievem ent of construction of Chinese tex tbook. According to the principle and the target of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, this paper has a survey analysis about the students and teachers who ar e belong to the six Confucius institutes of African Burundi, Rwanda, Cam eroon, Tanzania, Congo and Zam bia. Mainly taking Burundi University and middle school Chinese classes as the example, finding the problem s which exits in the teach ing process. Exploring th e cause of the problem and put forward som e constructive suggestions and strategies aim s to offer some scientific and m ore effective suggestions and methods to scholars engaged in research on teaching Chinese in Africa, thus Chinese as a foreign language teaching research can go towards a new step.
