Along with the great prosperity of global economy, financial activities become animportantpart of ourdailylife,andhavegreatimpactonordinarypeople. The financial texts focus on observing and analyzing financial activities. It mainly includes theinformation aboutthe financialmarketstatus andthe futureofthe financialworld.TheUnitedStates,asaleadingbodyofmodernfinancialworld, enjoys advanced and excellent information about financial development. Under such circumstances, many American financial texts have been studied and translated into different languages. However, compared with literary translation, translation of financial texts is a newly emerging one in academic field. So there are somany uncertainties and problems in the translation of financial texts. This thesis aims to deal with theproblemswhichfrequently appear in financial texts. The problems are complexandcanhardlybe classified. However,there is no perfect method to solve allthese problems. Skopos theory offers a new way to guide translation activities. It doesn’t pursue the choice of a particular translation method, but provides a macroguideline for the translation activities. This characteristic of Skopos Theory determines its importance in the study of translation of financial texts. Under the guidance of Skopos theory, this thesis offers some examples to show obstacles in translating financial texts, and then gives suggestions for translation. According to Skopos Theory, we should use different translation methods to achieve the translation goal. The author hopes this thesis can offer some contributions to the future research on translating of financial texts.This thesis consists of five parts: The first part is task description, which mainly introducesthe background information and the significance of financial texts translation. The second part gives a clear description of the three stepsduring this translation practice: before translation, during translation, and after translation. The third part is the core of this thesis, and it introduces the theoretical framework of this thesis, the content and the characteristic of the material, and also the difficulties in the process of translation, and how Skopos Theory is used in guiding E- C translation of financial texts. The fourth part introduces the implications after this translation practice. And the fifth part is the conclusion of this thesis, elaborating on the main findings and the limitations of this study.
