This thesis mainly discusses the translation of financial terms and texts under the guidance of Skopos Theory. It aims to help, in one way or other, finance-related personnel better understand and study paragraphs and chapters of financial English, follow trends and news of international financial market when they are reading and reviewing books or information on international finance. Hence it can help them formulate accurate financial decisions and develop their business and also contribute to private investment. First of all, I illustrate the definition and importance of finance and the definition of translation, followed by a discussion of the definition, source and features of financial English and the scope and characteristics of financial English texts. Secondly, I introduce Skopos Theory, including its definition, translation principals and its application in applied translation. Thirdly, I demonstrate that it is feasible and appropriate for Skopos Theory to play a guiding role in financial English terms and texts translation.
