The cultivation of primary school students’ sexual self-p rotection ability is a topic of concern in the academ ic circles at hom e and abroad. In the prim ary stage, children’s sexual psychological development is at a cr itical stage and also the k ey period of sex education. This research mainly talks about how to develop and cultivate sexual self-protection ability for primary school students.In this research, pupils in Grade Two, Four, Six were tested. The current situation of primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability was studied through the first research and cultivation program to prom ote primary school stud ents’ sexual self-protection ability was explored through the second one.The first research: the current situation of prim ary school students’ sexual self-protection ability. This research selected 1249 students from Shen North Subsidiary School of Shenyang Nor mal University in Grade T wo(458 students), Grade Four(401 students) and Grade Six(390 students).The characteristics of age and gender of primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability were investigated by way of questionnaire.The second research: a cultivation study on the intervention of prim ary school students’ sexual self-protection ability. This research studied intervention an d cultivation of primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability on 52 pupils in Grade Two via picture book education, studied on 50 pupils in Grade Four from above mentioned school via group games and studied on 51 pupils in Grade Six from above mentioned school via psychological drama.Through the researches, the following conclusions were drawn:1. There are significant grade dif ferences in the primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability in know ledge and the dif ferences gradually increase with the increasing of the grade. There are si gnificant gender dif ferences in sexual self-protection knowledge among pupils and th e degree of girls’ self-protection are higher than the boys’.2. There are significant grade dif ferences in the primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability in skill, an d the differences increase g radually with th e increasing of the grade.3. The interaction betw een gender and gr ade of primary school students’ sexual self-protection ability is not significant.4. The picture book education can improve and enhance sexual self-protection ability of primary school students in Grade Two.5.Group activities can improve and enhance sexual self-protection ability level of primary school students in Grade Four.6. Psychological drama can improve and enhance sexual self-protection ability of primary school students in Grade Six.
