Research About Chinese And Japanese High School Students' Sexual Development Level In Shanghai Foreign Language School

The sexual awareness and psychosexual development of the senior high school students are influenced by their physical development, and the social cultural environment also plays a decisive role. The article aims at studying the Chinese and Japanese senior high students in Shanghai Foreign Language School affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University by adopting the methods of participant observation, questionnaire survey and depth interview. From the perspectives of sexual knowledge, sexual attitude and the association with the opposite sex, it discusses the present development situation and the diversity of the senior high students'sexual knowledge, sexual legality, sexual mentality and sexual morality, and then attempts to provide specific facts and reference for students.The research is divided into four stages. In the first stage, the author acts the role as the headmaster's assistant of a Chinese student class and a Japanese student class, undertaking the participant observation for one month and focusing on studying the problems; In the second stage, based on the observed results, the author decides on the questions to be researched, designs the questionnaire and gives tests to several classes. Optimizing the questionnaire and developing the network questionnaire on the basis of previous test report. In the third stage, students are organized to complete the questionnaire on the internet and then the author analyzes the result.The research result clearly shows that Shanghai Foreign Language School enjoys a good school spirit, students' school life is colorful, educational environment is comfortable, the relation between different sexes is harmonious and the students'degree of satisfaction of their school life is high. When the senior high students choose their friends from the opposite sex, they value inner qualities, hold a positive attitude towards the association. But they have difficulties and puzzlement in getting along with their opposite sex. About the way of associating with the opposite sex, Chinese senior high students prefer clique contacts while Japanese students like one-to-one separate contacts better. School curriculum remains the major source of students'sexual knowledge, which discords with the result of mainland. Boy's sexual consciousness behavior is more obvious than girls. Although 50% students possess the object of affection, but most of them rest on the step of missing. Only 11.52% Chinese students are in love and the proportion in Japanese students is 23.68%.In the Chinese students'sample, although 7 students had sex, which is less than 5%, their tolerability of premarital sex is relatively high. The senior high students'need for the sexual education is quite different.People can get the introspections as following. At present, to teach the sexual education in senior high school meets many difficulties, such as the big difference among students, parents'and teachers' conservative ideas, and the impact on the students'sexual morality from social environment. Shanghai Foreign Language School carries out various activities about the subject of adolescence education, like the scientific interpretation of physiological knowledge, the guidance of psychological courses, regular lectures about sex and the construction of rich school life. All these have significant influences and worth using for reference.
