Academic paper is a significant part in international academic communication. As a linking bridge, the translation of the papers is a must for the researchers to publish papers on international journals. In this report, the author chooses three of the five technical papers she has translated as the source material to describe the translation process, strategies and skills for science and engineering researchers who need more improvement on paper translation. At the pre-translation stage, memoQ is selected as a tool to translate the source text and export the translated text, which can avoid deletion and the problems caused by adjusting texts manually. And the strategies and skills, like the choice of the technical terms, the translation of long sentences, etc. are also introduced. Applying these techniques to their own papers can improve the quality of translation and help the researchers to exchange their ideas effectively in the international academic communication. The report gives a much more practical example of technical paper translation, which will help the science and researchers by analyzing examples. |
