In recent years, with the continuous strengthening of "the Belt and Road Initiative" International cooperation, China’s diplomatic activities have been made a breakthrough progress, which causing the study of foreign relations to become an important topic. In order to realize the attitude of Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Yongzheng towards immigration and trade with Southeast Asia countries, this thesis will launch the research of Nanyang policy mainly following three aspects:tributary, banning on the sea and lifting the ban. Combined with my own realities of situation and taking the group of overseas Chinese in Indonesia who have relatively close contact with China as an example, we discuss the practical influences caused by the above policies.Academic circles generally believed that the reason for overseas Chinese in Indonesia suffering combat and persecution from the Dutch colonists is Nanyang conservative policy. The dissertation illustrates that those specific policies were not strictly implemented because of historical and corrupt factors at that time, which did not have a substantial impact on folk trade and lives of overseas Chinese. It was the rulers’ resistant attitude toward maritime trade and the prejudice to the overseas Chinese community that led to the above results. In addition, the hostility towards Chinese who go abroad to Nanyang of Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Yongzheng only cause negative effects to the production, trade and the political status of overseas Chinese in the short term, in contrast, their attitudes have no influence on the normal communication between two countries in political, economic, cultural and social life. With the combination of traditional Chinese culture and the native Indonesia culture, the two countries’people were more and more profound friendly, and also linked closely.
