Vocabulary teaching has always been one of hot research spot in TCFL. Imaginal meaning as the most flexible element in semantic system, also been a major difficulty in learning Chinese as a second language. Drawing on the results of previous studies of imaginal meaning and the practice of foreign language intermediate vocabulary teaching, and combined with Chinese vocabulary teaching methods, the author demonstrates the importance of the imaginal words in the vocabulary teaching through statistics. On this basis, it proposes some strategy on vocabulary teaching in intermediate phrase. Try to catch the attention of TCFL to the imaginal words and improve teachers’teaching efficiency, wish to provide help for further study in the future.Paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter is a brief introduction of the research purpose, significance, research ideas and methods. This part mainly analyzes the reason why the author select the imaginal meaning as the object of study and focus on the vocabulary in intermediate stage.The second chapter states the related research and literature review. It introduces the status of imaginal meaning of ontology research and the research status in TCFL. By analyzing the status, the paper points out the main problems and stresses the necessity and importance of the study of imaginal meaning.In the third chapter, the author statistics intermediate imaginal words with corpus-based Three-Syllable and Non-lexical-items and Bridge, then analyze the imaginal words viewed from the word formation, sensory experience and rhetoric point. Gather all of the idiomatic phrase contain imaginal meaning and emphasize its functionality. Finally, explore the important role of several common types of imaginal words in Bridge in context in depth.The fourth chapter combines words of imaginal meaning and intermediate lexical teaching and can be divided into two parts:The first part detects the imaginal meaning influence on intermediate lexical teaching from two perspectives. One of them is the functionality of the imaginal words, and the other is color image from the words of the righteous expression of function, and the problems in the process of teaching and the impact of imaginal meaning are analyzed in the other perspective. The second part combines with practical teaching, puts forward the operational vocabulary teaching strategy with detailed examples.The fifth part is the conclusion part. The article simply summarize the main points and point out the deficiencies.
