Abstract/Summary:
In the existing process of teaching Chinese vocabulary to foreigners,Chinese teachers mostly teach the conceptual meaning of words,but pay less attention to the image color of words.Among the previous studies on the acquisition of image color,the one for native Azerbaijani students has still not started.This paper investigates the acquisition of words with image color(hereinafter referred to as "image color words")in the "New Practical Chinese Reader"(Books 1-4)and the "HSK Standard Course"(Levels 1-4),and identifies the problems of intermediate and advanced students studying at the Confucius Institute of Baku State University in Azerbaijan.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly includes the reason of selecting the topic,the purpose and significance of the study,the object of the study,the method,the idea and the current status of the study.This paper introduces the object of this study,explains the reasons for choosing these two sets of textbooks,briefly explains the methodology and research process that will be used in the main text,and summarizes the previous studies from the perspectives of image color and teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and points out the issues that need further research.Chapter 2 is a statistical analysis of the image color words in the New Practical Chinese Reader(Books 1-4)and the HSK Standard Course(Levels 1-4).This chapter is divided into three subsections.The first section specifies the word selection criteria of this paper and selects image color words from the two textbooks that meet the criteria.The second section categorizes and analyzes these words.Finally,the statistical results are summarized.Chapter 3 is a survey and analysis of the acquisition of image color words.This chapter is divided into three subsections.In the first section,a survey and analysis of the HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus is conducted to summarize the biases that foreign learners make in their actual writing and the reasons for them.The second section is a questionnaire survey and analysis of Azerbaijani students studying at the Confucius Institute of Baku State University.The third section is an interview with the teachers of the Confucius Institute at Baku State University,in which the problems of teaching image color at the teacher level are summarized.Chapter 4 is about teaching suggestions for the image color of Azerbaijani Chinese vocabulary.In this chapter,corresponding teaching suggestions will be made in terms of textbook development and classroom teaching.Chapter 5 of this paper is the conclusion.It summarizes the content of the paper,introduces the innovative points and features,and points out the shortcomings of the paper.
