A Report On The Translation Of Resolutions Of 10th Meeting Of The Conference Of The Parties To The Convention On Wetlands

The year of 1992 had witnessed that China was enrolled into the Convention on Wetlands. Since then, Chinese government has been devoted to the conservation of wetlands, gaining some major achievements in the conservation and wise use of wetlands. And the State Forestry Administration has been entrusted to coordinate the implementation of the Convention among relevant competent authorities and other bodies. Moreover, China has been frequently attending to the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Wetlands, adhering to the documents such as resolutions. And such documents are the basis of carrying out international cooperation regarding to the conservation of wetlands.This report is about the translation of Resolutions of 10th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Wetlands, whose contents includes wetlands and urbanization as well as poverty eradication in accordance with its theme "Healthy Wetlands, Healthy People". This translation practice shall provide useful guidance for the implementation of the Convention and helps China moving forward in protecting wetlands.This report is based on the translation practice of Resolutions of 10th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Wetlands. Linking the text features with the principle of translation equivalence, the report has concluded the problems in the translating processes and offered the corresponding solutions, in order to provide feasible suggestions for international instruments translation.
