This report is based on the first two chapters from Natural Capital-Valuing the Planet, an economic text. The source text mainly describes how to coordinate the development between natural capital and economy, and then how to find ways to achieve sustainable development.In this economic text, lots of compound words and abstract nouns as well as impersonal subject sentences are used, showing professional, concise and objective text characteristics. Under the guidance of text typology theory, the main purpose of this task is to convey the plain information of source text accurately and produce a natural Chinese version for target readers.This report is divided into four Parts: Part one introduces the process of choosing translation materials and analyses the text features at macro and micro levels. Part two describes the process of translation. The preparation for translation, the schedule and the proofreading are described one by one. Part three is about analysis of translation cases. Translation difficulties and adopted translation methods are shown in this part. Part four is the conclusion of this report, including translation achievements and reflections. This report has some implications for the E-C translation of economic texts.
