Due to different traditions and social backgrounds,education concepts,thinking patterns and teaching approaches vary greatly from China to Western countries.These differences,with their own characteristics and strengths,can complement each other with advantages in many aspects.Education scholastic text is an important means of achieving international academic exchanges;Therefore,the translation of it is of practical significance and academic value.This translation report is based on the eighth chapter of Innovating to Learn,Learning to innovate,focusing on solving the problems encountered during translation.There are many impersonal subject sentences in this chapter and the noun abstract usage is frequently employed,which can directly impede readers' understanding.The translator will conduct case analyses on these two problems to elaborate the techniques of English translation of impersonal subject sentences and the abstract nouns,in the hope to provide reference for the translation of scholastic text.
