Study On Implementation Strategy Of University English Classroom Teaching

This thesis adopts the methods of literature research,survey research,case study, observational research and statistical analysis, uses statistical analysis software SPSS 19.0 to make a data mining of the potential information of 1060 non-English majors by means of the case study of Orient Science and Technology college of Hunan Agricultural University.College English teaching is currently facing some problems like the passive state of English learners, low utilization of teaching resources, weak practicality of teaching material,big individual differences among teachers and so on. There are both theoretical values and practical significance to study how to improve the effect of college English classroom teaching deeply. College English classroom teaching environment settings play an important role in the English teaching activities,which includes physical environment,psychological environment and English campus cultural environment. The study shows:in terms of the physical environment,it is necessary to provide students with a harmonious,coordinated and appropriate teaching environment as well as to build small classrooms, small classes, and many communication platforms. In terms of psychological environment, it is necessary to build a sound interpersonal communication atmosphere between teachers and students.In the terms of English campus cultural environment, it is necessary to organize the activities like English corner, English salon, foreign English teachers’activities,which can help to construct characteristic English campus cultural environment. The organization and arrangement of college English teaching is the basis of the implementation of classroom teaching.In terms of textbook selection,it is essential to consider some factors such as students’knowledge background, teaching resources situation and the professional talent training scheme. In terms of class hour arrangement,the scheme of total teaching hours and semester teaching should be considered. Semester teaching plan is the decomposition of teachers’teaching task, it is also the basis for the teaching goal, which should be improved according to the experiences and teaching practice. Class teaching plan is the concrete implementation plan of the classroom teaching activities as well as the preparation and arrangement of each lesson’s teaching. It is also the important content of teachers’ and students’ personal development.Though the study of classroom teaching methods, teaching means and teaching art,it shows:①Teaching method is still the basic method of the present college English classroom teaching. ②There is a positive correlation between the modern teaching means that used widely in English teaching and the students’ achievement in CET-4 and CET-6. That means,to some extent, the modernization of teaching means improves the students’ performance in grades.③ There are various evaluation systems of teachers’ teaching art,but this research shows that traditional teachers must keep pace with The Times to improve the teaching skills and teaching art.
