With the development of economic globalization,international cooperation work more closely than ever.The market's needs for talents have changed from simplex theory-guide to application-oriented and international-type,which offers much opportunities and challenges for vocational colleges' students.English learning becomes more and more important and would be a necessary part in employment and career development but English teaching in higher vocational technical colleges are facing challenges and problems expecting to be solved.Currently many vocational colleges having no definite course regimentation are carrying on the teaching model for undergraduate which is not work in the actual situation in use.Students who accept this teaching model lack learning interest and motivation so that it is hardly for them to accomplish the daily communication in English.Although Some researchers are having tried to explore different ways to arouse students' interest,but it doesn't work effectively and can't change students' learning attitude from passive to active.This research,from the point of classroom teaching process,studies the demand of students and English teachers of Xian yang vocational technical college and tries to find out the problems and reasons that make teaching effects in low.Questionnaires and interview investigation show that problems occurred in teaching objectives,teaching process,teaching evaluation and teaching reflection.On the analysis of above problems came out five suggestions,which are exploring new method of stratified teaching,designing teaching plan according to typical and professional working place,creating new teaching evaluation mechanism,improving English teaching infrastructure and resources allocation and paying more attention on English teachers professional development and training double-qualified teachers.From a new angle of view,the paper analyses classroom teaching problems and gives some suggestions expecting to offer help to college student English learning and to researchers who concentrate on college English teaching.
